Winding down and settling in

After kicking inflated ego out

Again and again.

This year I found a life hack – 

Learning and loving myself, 

Digging deeper and deeper,

No more holding back.

And I knew that I had depth,

But wow,

What an awesome God there is.

I have reconnected.

This year I found my voice 

And put first the needs of myself and the needs of my kids

My dreams my goals

And the many fascinating facets of myself 

That I placed to the side 

In previous years when I needed someone else to hide in.

This year I laid to rest a

Petrified child

Who needed healing.

This year was wild and it came with a multitude of revealing!

I started teaching again 

And I wrote another poetry book 

Which took patience

And time 

And releasing patterns 

Of impulsivity. 

This year I simply became a better me. 

Single life and intense periods of solitude,

Releasing my own nonsense

Crafting me again without 

The internal voids which only skewed 

My own vision

And blocked my path to success.

This year, in 2023, I redefined Jess.
