Stream of Consciousness Saturday – Writing Prompt
Well, which photograph?
They are still, they capture emotions
they capture the will
or intent or
the appropriate amount of pretending,
enough will bending for the moment.
So why so many, Jess?
You photograph so much
but what of the moment?
This photograph is much like that photograph
much like the other thousand photographs in your phone.
How big is that cloud that they all back up to?
Is that a necessary expense? $2.
Well, these photographs are my glimmers but sometimes it seems obsessive
that the delete button cause hesitance
even for those memories that I ought to remove.
Today I think I’ll erase a few albums, many photographs, if the digital value really counts, these moments can be bad for my growth.
I remember when my late paternal grandparents, they had this awesome camera that would instantly print a photograph and Sissy and I would shake it gently and have patience as the excitement gleamed on our faces to view the moment that we had just frozen in time. Man… memories of a photograph can be so sublime.
