Where Can I Rinse Off?
Found myself in need of cleansing, my God was the drought unending.
Parched souls gathered in desolate places,
many like me
stood with shame on their faces.
Principles of healing concepts of rebirth,
I ran so that I could wash off all of this dirt.
The dirt the stains
my shirt my soul
head low in disdain.
The drought the hunger the thirst for self worth,
gratitude wouldn’t grant me entitlement to complain.
Could you spare a little water for me?
Surely their flow is perpetual,
their cups must be full enough to spare a drop or two for my hands.
As was my fear, they were depleted, too.
The deficit revoked capacity for compassion.
Every man for themselves with not a thing left to ration.
