I made an additional edit to “Monae.”

Peppy steppin’

With a bounce, she’s preppin’

For something meaningful.

That head held high

She let out a sigh

And waved to the norms of society:

“Goodbye.”

Where she’s going

There’s no showing

Judgment

Or fear

No more looking back

The future is here.

Before rebellion displayed courage

Before the “Goldilocks Principle” was

Metaphorically displayed in a story of

Bears and porridge,

She’s been

Here for it.

Explore it

For it truly is

A peaceful way to exist.

Melodies of Monae.

Neoma Poetix Ajita.

Welcome to your stage of bliss.

Reflecting on topics of self-love and self-discovery brings my poem “Who Labeled You Taboo?” to mind. Do read this poem that I wrote along my path to reconnect with my authentic self.
