Harmony Writing Prompt
Agree to disagree. Move on.
This has got to be one of my biggest hurdles along my journey of growth. I admit that I have a very tough time being the bigger person or not having the last word. An issue of maturity? Possibly. But if I could find an excuse for my lackluster communication skills let’s say it’s a trauma response.
I long to feel in tune with the world around me, but I’ll admit that I have a tough time blending into society. “Blending in” is a little extreme though, because harmony should allow me to remain my authentic self. Slippery slope at times. It’s important to be able to agree to disagree because it is exhausting trying to fight battles that I chose to sign up for. And then anyone else, well everyone else continues to move on with their day and their lives.
Like some things we really do to ourselves!
For the sake of harmony I could let go of:
- the need to be right.
- the urge to clear up false narratives of myself that others hold onto.
- fighting with myself and potentially self-sabotaging my own, inner harmony and peace.
I think that’s a good start. This prompt just made my heart smile. I look forward to reading the responses of others!
